Consultant’s Background:
Since 1993 Robert Gray worked as Senior Interior Consultant for one of Europe’s leading commercial interiors organisations working on multi-million pound refurbishment and relocation projects with blue-chip companies. For over three years Robert was heavily involved with the re-design and implementation of BUPA's office refurbishment programme nation-wide which covered over 2000 employees. Feng Shui was an integral part of the design concept at their call centres for which Robert was sole consultant.
He is fully conversant with business issues and is experienced in the many areas necessary to provide an integrated consultancy service, therefore maximising the effectiveness of any work place. He does this by drawing on his experience of space planning consultancy, furniture and interior design, ergonomics and health and safety. He integrates these disciplines with his knowledge of environmental psychology and his Feng Shui expertise.

A Tailored Service
Our consultation service is tailored to your specific requirements. Following your initial brief Robert will begin by spending time clarifying your objectives, to be sure that he is aware of every aspect of your business or home that you wish to improve. Following this a tour of the premises, noting the specific activities of each area, will also give you the opportunity to air any concerns which you may have overlooked during the brief. Robert will then usually work alone surveying the premises, in order to note any suggested enhancements, which will later be fed back to you either verbally or in report form.
What does a consultation cover?
The consultation can be extremely comprehensive and in relation to your current needs, priorities and objectives, considers the effects of the following:
- The Earth’s natural energy field on health and other issues (see ‘Geopathic stress’ below **)
- An assessment of the different qualities of energy in different areas in the building which could be used to identify suitable areas for different types of work.
- Positioning of Key items such as desks and other fixtures and fittings.
- If appropriate, an analysis of best working directions, timing of key events and the current phase of the companies cycle.
- The surrounding landscape.
- The flow of energy throughout the workplace.
- The energy residue from previous occupants.
- Symbolic Imagery in the building including artwork and ornaments.
- Colour and décor.
- Lighting spectral quality, intensity and direction.
- Electro-magnetic frequencies (surveyed with a professional field meter).
Reporting back to you
The observations, analysis and recommendations for improvement can be fed back to you in a variety of ways:
- verbally at the end of the day (and tape recorded or noted in shorthand by yourselves);
- written up in bullet points and then expanded upon verbally;
- in a full written report after the event. The 3rd option carries an extra fee.
.. the choice is yours.
The recommendations are almost never structural (unless appropriate, for example if refurbishment is taking place) and are usually simple and inexpensive.
For many of our clients, balancing their environment to support rather than obstruct them has resulted in very positive changes such as enhanced atmosphere and staff morale and increased business performance.
Consultancy Fees
Depending on your requirements the consultation process could take from 4 hours to several weeks. After discussing your requirements over the phone and reviewing your completed questionnaire (we send this out directly after you have enquired) we will be able to advise you more accurately on the suggested time needed (and therefore the cost) for the consultancy.
Our UK fees are £950 per day for a one day consultation plus travel costs from Leicester. Occasionally it is possible to provide effective consultancy in a period of about 4 hours, the fee for which is£500.
This is not so much a cost to your business but a very worthwhile investment. Feng Shui is for businesses who mean business!
